Dexing, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province, administered by Shangrao City, is located in northeastern Jiangxi Province, north of Shangrao City, and at the junction of Gan, Zhejiang, and Anhui provinces, with a total area of 2,101 square kilometers. As of October 2022, the city has 4 streets, 6 towns, and 6 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the city had a resident population of 292,000 people. In the eighth year of Jian'an (203) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Dexing was established as a county, named after the meaning of "the treasure of mountains and rivers, but De Naixing", and in December 1990, the county was abolished and established as a city. In history, Dexing has 417 scholars, accounting for about one-fifth of the total number of scholars in Shangrao, and a large number of celebrities such as Zhang Qian, the originator of wet copper refining. Dexing is an important non-ferrous metal industrial base in China. Sanqing Mountain is located in the eastern part of the city, Damao Mountain Provincial Scenic Spot and Wufeng Cave are in the territory. Dexing has been honored with the National Advanced City for Science and Technology Progress, etc. In July 2019, it was awarded the title of "China's Natural Oxygen Bar" creation area, and in October 2020, it was named the National Model City (County) of Double Embrace. Within the city, there are Sanqing Mountain, Damao Mountain and other attractions. In 2022, Dexing City realized a gross regional product of 20.206 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8% over the previous year.
