Yizheng City, known as Zhenzhou in ancient times, is a county-level city in Jiangsu Province, administered by Yangzhou City, and a member of the Nanjing Metropolitan Area. It is located in the west-central part of Jiangsu Province, between longitude 119°02'-119°22' and latitude 32°14'-32°36'. It is located at the top of the Yangtze River Delta, and is the geometric center of the "Silver Triangle" area of Ning, Zhen and Yang. The total area is 857 square kilometers. Yizheng has a northern subtropical monsoon climate. As of October 2022, Yizheng has 9 towns and 9 townships under its jurisdiction. The municipal government is located at No. 300, Jiefang East Road, Yizheng. As of the end of 2022, Yizheng had a household population of 543,444, a decrease of 4,757.
Yizheng, Song Zhenzong once ordered to melt and cast the gold statues of the four emperors of the distant ancestors here, and because the cast statues were so realistic, they were given the names of "Zhenzhou" and "Yizhen (Zheng)". The county was established in the fifth year of Yuanfeng of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty (106 years ago) as Yizheng County; in July 1986, approved by the State Council, Yizheng County was abolished and Yizheng City was established. Yizheng City has 27 kilometers of Yangtze River shoreline, which is an ideal shoreline for port construction. Together with Ningtong Expressway, high-grade highway along the river and Ningqi Railway, Yizheng City has a water and land transportation network. Yizheng City has such monuments as Lianying Qin-Han Cultural Site, Miaoshan Han Tomb, Tang Dynasty Tianning Pagoda, Ming Dynasty Drum Tower, etc. Yizheng City is a national sanitary city, a national ecological city and a civilized city in Jiangsu Province.
In 2022, Yizheng City realizes a regional GDP of 100.293 billion yuan, an increase of 4.6% at comparable prices. Among them: the added value of primary industry is 2.451 billion yuan, with a growth of 3.0% at comparable price; the added value of secondary industry is 52.585 billion yuan, with a growth of 5.8% at comparable price; the added value of tertiary industry is 45.257 billion yuan, with a growth of 3.3% at comparable price.
