Longtan District, belongs to Jilin City, Jilin Province. Located in the northeastern part of Jilin City, on the north bank of the Songhua River, Longtan District borders Jiaohe City in the east, is connected to Fengman District in the southeast, is across the river from Changyi District in the south and west, and is adjacent to Shulan City in the north, with a mesothermal continental monsoon climate and four distinct seasons, with a total area of 1,208.9 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the total household population of Longtan District was 407,980. As of June 2023, Longtan District has 13 streets, 5 towns, and 1 township under its jurisdiction, with the district's people's government stationed at 65 Zunyi East Road. Longtan District is named for its location at the foot of Longtan Mountain, which has a rich cultural heritage. Monkey Rock Mountain and Long Snake Mountain is the West Tuan Shan Bronze Culture era of ancient human gatherings, Fuyu Wangcheng Lushan of the Han Dynasty is the first Northeast Asia, the first square country, by academics called the "opening of the Northeast civilization era of the first ray of hope". National cultural relics, "two-man horse brass ornaments", represents the cultural prosperity of Haidong Sheng country in the Bohai period of the Great Tang Dynasty.
