Junshan District is a municipal district of Yueyang City, Hunan Province, a new district approved by the State Council in March 1996, named after the Junshan Island within its boundaries. As of the end of 2022, Junshan District had a household population of 243,319.
In 2022, the gross regional product of Junshan District was 19.001 billion yuan, an increase of 4.9%, of which: the added value of primary industry was 3.904 billion yuan, an increase of 4%; the added value of secondary industry was 6.029 billion yuan, an increase of 4%; and the added value of tertiary industry was 9.068 billion yuan, an increase of 5.5%. The structure of the three industries is 20.5:31.7:47.8. the contribution rate of the primary industry to the economic growth is 23%, the contribution rate of the secondary industry to the economic growth is 29.4%, and the contribution rate of the tertiary industry to the economic growth is 47.5%. in 2020, there will be four towns, one street, and two production farms under the jurisdiction of Junshan District, with the total area of 718.2 square kilometers.
Junshan District is in the northeastern part of Dongting Lake, north of the Yangtze River and Hubei Province, Jiali County, west of Huarong County, east and south of the border against the waters of East Dongting Lake.
The famous specialties of Junshan District include Junshan Silver Needle, Junshan Maojian, Dongting Silver Fish, etc.; the scenic spots include Dongdongting Lake National Nature Reserve, Junshan Island and Junshan Wild Lotus World.
