The Tianyue New District in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, is a new industrial development platform established by the Pingjiang County Party Committee and County Government to accelerate the county’s economic development. Construction officially began in August 2013. Located east of Pingjiang County’s urban area, the new district has a planned area of 17.3 square kilometers, with the first phase covering 6.8 square kilometers.
Guided by the development philosophy of “integration of industry and urban life, and an eco-friendly, livable environment,” and with the development goals of “laying the foundation in one year, seeing results in three years, and achieving scale in five years,” the New District focuses on developing four key industries: electronic information, biomedicine, food processing, and new materials. As of 2023, more than 120 enterprises have settled in the New District, including over 40 large-scale enterprises and more than 10 high-tech enterprises.
The New District enjoys convenient transportation links, located just 5 kilometers from the Pingjiang exit of the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway and only 30 kilometers from Miluo East Station on the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. The district features well-developed infrastructure, with over 20 kilometers of primary and secondary roads already constructed, and comprehensive supporting facilities including water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications. The New District also houses specialized parks such as an Innovation and Entrepreneurship Park, an E-commerce Industrial Park, and a Logistics Park, providing enterprises with an excellent platform for development.
In the future, Tianyue New District will continue to intensify its efforts to attract investment, accelerate project construction, and continuously improve infrastructure and supporting services. The district is committed to becoming a new engine for Pingjiang’s economic development, a new platform for industrial upgrading, and a new highlight of urban development.
