Fuyuan City is a county-level city under the administration of Jiamusi City in Heilongjiang Province, located in the triangle where the Heilongjiang and Ussuri Rivers meet. Fuyuan City is located in the easternmost part of China's landmass, and is also the place where the sun was first seen in China. The city has a total area of 6,262.48 square kilometers. To the east and north, it is separated from Russia by the Heilongjiang and Ussuri rivers, neighboring Raohe in the south and Tongjiang in the west. The city's border is 275 kilometers long. The town of Fuyuan, the seat of the municipal government, is only 65 kilometers away from Khabarovsk, the first largest city in the Russian Far East, and the town of Ussuri is 2.5 kilometers away from Kazhankovitsvo, the largest grouping station of the Russian Sibiriya Great Railway in the Far East. On August 17, 2018, the town was assessed and inspected, and was lifted out of poverty.
