In the twelfth year of the Republic of China (1923), it belonged to the Xiangfang District Management Office of Harbin Municipal Office. Republic of China twenty-five years (1936), moved to Tuen and households. Republic of China twenty-seventh year (June 1938), set up Pingfang special district office, jurisdiction over 3 sub-districts. Republic of China thirty-one years (1942), set up Pingfang, Xinfa, Chaoyang, Dongjingzi, waist two ditch, after Hada, Zhenghuang two, Zhenghuang three 8 sub-districts. Republic of China thirty-five years (1946), belongs to the Xiangfang District, set up Pingfang sub-district. 1953 November, transferred to Pingfang District. 1956, set up Pingfang Township; in March, transferred to Harbin City, Chaoyang District. 1958, belongs to the Harbin City, the third Jinxing Commune farming area. 1960, set up Pingfang Commune. 1963 May, transferred to the suburb of Binjiang District, Harbin City. 1972 August, revert to the Pingfang District. In 1984, the commune was changed to a township.In September 1996, the township was changed to a town.
