Pingqiao District, belonging to Xinyang City, Henan Province, is located in the northeastern part of Xinyang City, between latitude 31°43'-32°37'N and longitude 113°42'-114°25'E, belonging to the transition region from subtropical to northern temperate zone. The total area of the district is 1,889 square kilometers, according to the seventh population census data, as of zero hour on November 1, 2020, Pingqiao District resident population of 860,000 people. In 2019, the gross regional product of Pingqiao District amounted to 38.97 billion yuan, an increase of 7.4% over the previous year, higher than the city's average growth rate of 1.1 percentage points, higher than the province's average growth rate of 0.4 percentage points, and higher than the national average growth rate of 1.3 percentage points. Among them, the added value of primary industry is 4.4 billion yuan, up 2.5%; the added value of secondary industry is 16.77 billion yuan, up 8.4%; the added value of tertiary industry is 17.798 billion yuan, up 7.7%. The proportion of added value of the primary industry to the regional GDP was 11.29%, the proportion of added value of the secondary industry was 43.04%, and the proportion of added value of the tertiary industry was 45.67%.
