Pingchang Town, belonging to Pingqiao District, Xinyang City, Henan Province, is located in the northwest of Pingqiao District, connected to Changtaiguan Township and Ganxian Street in the east and southeast, neighboring Youhe Township and Wujiadian Township in the south, adjoining Gaoliangdian Township and Wanggang Township in the west, and bordering Xingjizheng Township and Zhashan Township in the north. The area is 133.3 square kilometers, with a household population of 65,270 as of the end of 2018.
At the time of King Xuan of Zhou, it was Xie Cheng. In Qin Dynasty, it was Yiyang Township. Western Han Dynasty, set up Anchang County rule. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was set up as Pingchun County. In 1653, it was Qingxin Township; in July 1958, it was established as a commune; in April 1983, it was changed to a township; in September 1998, it was abolished and established as a township. As of June 2020, Pingchang Township has 1 community and 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
