Xinxiang County, part of Xinxiang City, Henan Province, is located in the northern part of Henan Province, at the southern foot of the Taihang Mountains and upstream of the Wei River. It is connected with Yanjin in the east, Wujia in the west, Yuanyang in the south, and Xinxiang city center in the east, south and west in the north. The administrative area covers 264 square kilometers. As of July 2023, Xinxiang County has a total population of 350,000 people. It was a part of the gui in the Shang Dynasty. On May 5, 1949, the entire territory of Xinxiang County was liberated, and the county was set aside to expand into Xinxiang City.On August 24, 1961, Xinxiang County was restored.On September 1, 1983, it was changed from Xinxiang District to Xinxiang Municipal Jurisdiction.In 2012, the State Council approved the relocation of Xinxiang County's seat from the Hongqi District of Xinxiang City to the town of Xiaohi. As of October 2022, Xinxiang County has 7 towns, 1 township, and 1 township-level unit under its jurisdiction. The county people's government is located in Xiaoji Town.On September 8, 2021, Xinxiang County was selected as a pilot list of whole county (city and district) rooftop distributed PV development by the Comprehensive Department of the National Energy Administration. In 2022, Xinxiang County gross regional product completed 25.4 billion yuan, an increase of 6.3% over the previous year, the total amount of 15 counties (cities and districts) ranked 4th; county residents per capita disposable income of 31,929 yuan, ranking 8 counties (cities) ranked 1st; general public budget revenue completed 1.11 billion yuan, tax accounted for 76.4%, ranking 8 counties (cities) ranked 1st.
