Muye District is part of Xinxiang City, Henan Province, and is located in the north-central part of Xinxiang City, crossing the whole Xinxiang City from east to west. Muye District has seven streets under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 89.2 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Muye District was 378,775 people.
Muye District, formerly known as the suburbs, is one of the four main urban areas of Xinxiang City, because of 1046 BC "Muye war" took place here and named. Muo Ye District belonged to Jizhou in ancient times, and it was the capital of Beijing during the Shang and Tang Dynasties. In the area, there are the former residence of the sage of Wei Guo, Dianbu Yu, and the ruins of Yangshao and Longshan cultures in the Spring and Autumn Period, as well as the Taigong Temple, Xingguo Temple and other municipal cultural relics under the key protection units.
In 2022, the gross regional product of the district completed 23.77 billion yuan, the total amount of which ranked 6th in the city, with a year-on-year growth of 3.5% at comparable prices, which was 1.8 percentage points lower than that of the city, and the growth rate ranked 13th in the city.
