Ye County, belonging to Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, is located in the southwestern part of Henan Province, southeast of Pingdingshan City, between longitude 113°02′~113°37′E, latitude 33°21′~33°46′N. With a total area of 1,387 square kilometers, Ye County has a warm temperate and subtropical climate. The county has 3 streets, 15 townships and 553 administrative villages.

In the Western Han Dynasty, Ye County was changed from Yeyang to Ye County, and belonged to Nanyang County.In September 1983, approved by the State Council, Ye County was transferred from Xuchang District to the leadership of Pingdingshan City. The county has Xunan, Luo Pingluo highway, G311 national highway, S330 provincial highway, Pingmai Railway through the territory. Ye County was named the "Rock Salt Capital of China" by the National Mining Federation.On May 9, 2019, after a special provincial assessment and inspection, it met the standards for poverty eradication and officially withdrew from the sequence of poor counties.In November 2019, Ye County was listed as the second batch of counties that reached the standard of water-saving social construction.
In the first quarter of 2021, Ye County's gross regional product was 4.917 billion yuan, up 16.7% year-on-year at comparable prices, 25 percentage points higher than that of the same period last year (-8.3%) and 9.4 percentage points higher than that of the first quarter of 2019 (7.3%). Among them, the added value of primary industry was 1.021 billion yuan, up 11.9%; the added value of secondary industry was 1.306 billion yuan, up 25.8%; and the added value of tertiary industry was 2.59 billion yuan, up 15.4%. The proportion of the tertiary industry in the regional GDP was 52.7%, 5.1 percentage points higher than that of the same period (47.6%).
