Xianghe County, belonging to Langfang City, Hebei Province, is located in the plains at the southern foot of Yanshan Mountain, east of central Hebei Province and northeast of Langfang City. It is adjacent to Baodi District of Tianjin in the east, Wuqing District of Tianjin in the south across the Qinglongwan River, neighboring Tongzhou District of Beijing in the west, and bordering Sanhe City and Dafang Hui Autonomous County in the north, with a total area of 448 square kilometers.In 2022, Xianghe County had a household population of 395,700 people, and a resident population of 451,600 people. As of June 2023, Xianghe County has nine towns under its jurisdiction.
The name Xianghe is derived from the fact that the county's southeastern waterfront is slightly fragrant when scooped up. In the first year of the Khitan Huitong period (938), Wuqing, Kuoxian (now Tongxian), and Sanhe set aside part of their territories to set up Xianghe County, which governed the present-day counties of Xianghe, Baodi, and Ninghe. In the twelfth year of Jin Dading (1172), 15,000 families in the eastern part of the Xianghe territory were set up in Baodi County. In the ninth year of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1731), Baodi County was analyzed and Ninghe County was set up. 1988, Langfang area was changed into Langfang City, to which Xianghe belonged.
In 2022, the GDP of Xianghe County will be 26.47 billion yuan, with an increase of 2.1%, of which: the primary industry will be 2.26 billion yuan, the secondary industry will be 6.94 billion yuan; the tertiary industry will be 17.28 billion yuan, and the proportion of the three industries will be 8.5:26.2:65.3.
