Shankou Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Hepu County, Beihai City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the southeastern part of Hepu County, 77 kilometers away from the county seat, adjacent to Gaogaoqiao Town, Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province, in the east, facing the Beibu Gulf in the south, bordering Baisha and Shatian Towns in the west, and Longtan Town, Bobai County, Guangxi Province in the north, which is the confluence of the three counties (municipalities) of the two provinces (districts) and the area of 123.6 square kilometers.
Since the Han Dynasty, it has belonged to the land of Hepu County.In 1984, it was the town of Shankou.At the end of 2018, Shankou had a resident population of 86,245 and a floating population of about 20,000 people. As of June 2020, Yamaguchi Town has 1 community and 15 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with the town's people's government stationed at No. 130, Zhenbei Avenue, Yamaguchi Street Community.
At the end of 2011, there were 73 industrial enterprises in Shankou Town, including 4 enterprises above scale, employing more than 7,800 people, with total industrial output value of 522 million yuan and total financial income of 13.69 million yuan; investment in fixed assets of the whole society was completed at 8.5 billion yuan; and investment attraction was completed at 200 million yuan.
In 2018, Shankou Town was selected as "2018 National Comprehensive Strength Thousand Towns".In October 2019, Shankou Town was selected as "2019 National Comprehensive Strength Thousand Towns".
