Luchuan County, belonging to Yulin City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is connected to Beiliu City in the east, Yuzhou District in the north, Bobai County in the west, and Lianjiang and Huazhou cities in Guangdong Province in the south, and is named after the six rivers, namely, Jiuzhou River, Mima River, Shahu River, Yungjiang River, Low Yang River and Qinghu River, which are located within the county. The total area of the county is 1554.32 square kilometers. There are 164 administrative villages (communities) in 14 towns under the jurisdiction of the county. 2021, Luchuan County has a household population of 1,114,700 people and a resident population of 808,200 people.
Luchuan County is known as the "hometown of hot springs". The southern part of the county is only 70 kilometers away from Zhanjiang Port, the largest port city in South China, and 120 kilometers away from Beihai City, an open city on the coast. It is the frontier of Yulin's integration into the Pearl River Delta Economic Zone and Guangxi's Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and is the second largest county in Guangxi inhabited by Hakka people, the red land where the first shot of the Southeast Gui's anti-Japanese armed insurrection was fired, and the first batch of Guangxi's open tourism counties. The northern part of the county mostly uses Cantonese (Hook Leak Piece - Baihua), and the southern part mostly uses Hakka language (Ya'anhua). It is the capital of iron pot in China, the largest production and export base of mini excavator in China, the origin of Luchuan pig, one of the eight good breed of pigs in China, a large county of transferring pigs out of the country, a national high-yield demonstration county of grain, a national base county of commercial grain, and a pilot county of the new type of rural cooperative medical care in the country. Specialties include Luchuan pigs, mini excavators, iron pots, mineral water, soy sauce, and huayama.
In 2021, the gross regional product of Luchuan County was 24.251 billion yuan, an increase of 9.0%. By industry, the added value of primary industry is 5.032 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 6.650 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 12.569 billion yuan, an increase of 9.7%.
