Yinhai District, belonging to Beihai City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, is located in the south-central part of Beihai City, at latitude 21°25′~21°41′ north and longitude 109°04′~09°19′ east, with a subtropical oceanic monsoon climate, with no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer, and a total area of 541 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Yinhai District had a resident population of 320,300. As of June 2023, Yinhai District has four towns under its jurisdiction, and the district people's government is located at the intersection of Xiangtan Road and New Century Avenue.
Yinhai District is named "Yinhai" because of the Silver Beach in Beihai and the embrace of the vast Gulf of Tonkin. It belonged to the jurisdiction of Hepu County, Hepu County in the 6th year of Yuan Ding (111 years ago) of the Western Han Dynasty. At the beginning of Ming Hongwu, it belonged to the defense of Wudaozhai, Longtanzhai and Gulizhai, and in December 1949, it belonged to the jurisdiction of Hepu County, and in September 1984, it was established as the suburb of Beihai City, and in December 1994, it was abolished as the suburb and set up as the district of Yinhai. Yinhai District is a demonstration area of Guangxi's overall tourism, with more than 20 tourist attractions within its jurisdiction, including the Beihai Silver Beach and the Golden Bay Mangrove Ecological Tourism Area. Among them, Beihai Silver Beach is known as "the first beach in the world".
In 2022, the gross regional product of Yinhai District was 22.894 billion yuan, an increase of 2.3% over the previous year.
