Lunglin Autonomous County is subordinate to Baise City of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China, located in the northwestern part of Baise City, at the junction of Yunnan, Guizhou and Gui Provinces (regions), connected with Tianlin County in the east, bordering Xilin County in the south, and Xingyi City of Guizhou Province in the north. Lunglin Autonomous County is located at the southeast edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with high elevation, mainly mesas, no plains, and the terrain is higher in the south than in the north, tilting from west to east; it belongs to the subtropical monsoon climate zone, with no scorching heat in summer and no severe cold in winter.
As of July 2022, Longlin Autonomous County has a total area of 3,518 square kilometers, with 179 administrative villages (communities) in 16 townships (towns) under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh population census, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Longlin Autonomous County was 350,765 people.
Lunglin Autonomous County is one of the only two autonomous counties of various ethnic groups in China, with a variety of ethnic customs in its territory, which is known as the "living museum of ethnic minorities", and has been honored with the titles of "National Science Popularization Demonstration County", "National Family Planning Quality Service Advanced Unit" and other honors. On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce into Rural Areas" by the Ministry of Commerce. in March 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of counties in the area of protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. in November 2019, it was selected into the second batch of counties with the standard of building a water-saving society. Water-saving society construction standard counties (districts).On July 29, 2020, it was selected for the naming list of national health townships (county towns) in the 2017-2019 cycle.On November 20, 2020, the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region approved the withdrawal from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties.
In 2022, Longlin realized a gross regional product of 8.672 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.9%.
