Longxi County, belongs to Dingxi City, Gansu Province. It is located in southeastern Gansu Province and central Dingxi City, bordering Tongwei County in the east, Zhang County and Wushan County in the south, Weiyuan County in the west, and Anding District in the north, with a total area of 2,407 square kilometers.In 2022, Longxi County had a household population of 523,473, and a resident population of 424,700. As of June 2023, Longxi County has 12 towns and 5 townships under its jurisdiction.
Longxi, named for being west of Longshan Mountain. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was analyzed and set up as Place County (Zhang County). In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Anyang County (present-day Qin'an County) and Wushui County (present-day Tongwei County) were established. In the Jin Dynasty, Dingxi County and Tongwei County were established. Rich in Chinese herbal medicine resources, is nationally important, the northwest's largest Chinese herbal medicine planting, storage bases and trading centers. Known as the "millennium medicine township", "the world's medicine warehouse" and "western medicine capital", "China's hometown of astragalus", "China's hometown of astragalus", "China's Chinese medicine raw materials security supply base. National Chinese medicine raw material security supply base, is the Li's cultural research center and the world Li's root ancestor shrine. 2020 February, Gansu Provincial People's Government approved the Longxi County exit poverty-stricken counties.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Longxi County was 9.768 billion yuan, an increase of 7.8% over the previous year. Among them: the added value of primary industry is 1.882 billion yuan, the added value of secondary industry is 1.907 billion yuan; the added value of tertiary industry is 5.979 billion yuan, an increase of 8% over the previous year.
