Wenxian County, belonging to Longnan City of Gansu Province, gets its name from following the text of the ancient Wenzhou, which is located in the southernmost part of Gansu Province, at the junction with Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces, in the Qinba Mountains, and is the southern gate of Gansu. As of October 2021, Wen County has 20 townships and 305 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, with a total area of 4,994 square kilometers and 320,100 acres of arable land. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, Wen County had a resident population of 196,906 people. Wenxian County is located in the West Qinling Mountains, South Qinling mountain belt, the altitude of the territory between 550-4187 meters, is a subtropical northern edge of the mountainous climate, no summer heat, no winter cold, known as the "Long Jiangnan", "Gansu's Xishuangbanna" and other reputation, with Wenxian Tianchi Wenxian Tianchi National Forest Park, Wenxian Huanglin Gou National Wetland Park. Wenxian is also known as the "hometown of pandas", the number of pandas in the territory accounts for about one-tenth of the national number of pandas, with the Giant Panda National Park Baishuijiang Park, Gansu Baishuijiang National Nature Reserve and Wenxian Jianshan Giant Panda Nature Reserve. Wenxian famous specialties are Wenxian green tea, Wenxian grain party, persimmon cake, etc., scenic spots are Wenxian Tianchi, Baima River ecological folk customs scenic area. Wenxian County has been awarded the titles of "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art", "Hometown of Chinese Baima People Folk Culture", and "Civilized County of Gansu Province", etc. On September 25, 2018, Wenxian County was awarded the "Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Art". On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce into Rural Areas" by the Ministry of Commerce.In February 2020, Wenxian County met the conditions for the withdrawal of poverty-stricken counties and was approved to withdraw from the poverty-stricken county by the Leading Group of Poverty Alleviation in Gansu Province. In 2023, Wen County's gross regional product was 7.519 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%.
