Guangyang Town was originally under the County of Ba, in February 1995, Chongqing Municipal administrative division adjustment, assigned to the jurisdiction of the South Bank District. The town is located in the direction of Yuzhong District due east, northeast of Nanan District, east of Banan District Wood Cave Town, south of Nanan District Yinglong Town, west of Nanan District Xiakou Town, north of the Yangtze River adjacent to the Jiangbei District and the fishing mouth of the town across the river. Covering an area of 37.12 square kilometers, jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages, a community committee, with a total population of 21,896 people.
