Chengkou County, part of Chongqing Municipality, is located in the southern foothills of the Daba Mountains, in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and northeastern Chongqing, bordering Zhenping and Pingli counties in Shaanxi Province to the east, Xuanhan and Wanyuan cities in Sichuan Province to the west, Kaizhou District and Wuxi County in Chongqing Municipality to the south, and Langao County and Ziyang County in Shaanxi to the north, with a total area of 3,289.08 km2.In 2021, Chengkou County had a total household population of 249,900 people.
