Fengtai County, belonging to Huainan City, Anhui Province, anciently known as Zhoulai, also known as Xia Cai, is located in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, the southern edge of the Huaibei Plain, neighboring Mengcheng County of Bozhou City in the north, Lixin County of Bozhou City in the northwest, Yingshang County of Fuyang City in the west, Shouxian County of Huainan City in the south across the Huaihe River, and Huainan City in the east. The county area is in a diagonal shape of southeast and northwest, 50 kilometers long from north to south and about 42 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 891.4 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Fengtai County has 15 towns and 4 townships under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, Fengtai County had a resident population of 535,800.
