Huize County, part of Qujing City, Yunnan Province, is located in northeastern Yunnan Province, on the east bank of the Jinsha River, and in the northwest of Qujing City, between longitude 103°03′ to 103°55′ east and latitude 25°48′ to 27°04′ north. It is adjacent to Xuanwei City and Weining County of Bijie City, Guizhou Province in the east, Zhan Yi District and Xundian Hui and Yi Autonomous County of Kunming City in the south, Dongchuan District of Kunming City and Qiaojia County of Zhaotong City in the west, and Ludian County in the north. The maximum horizontal distance between east and west is 84 kilometers, and the maximum vertical distance between north and south is 138 kilometers. The administrative area is 5886 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the household population of Huize County was 1,076,572.
Huize County, the county town of Zhongping Town, 2,120 meters above sea level, 245 kilometers from downtown Qujing, 210 kilometers from the provincial capital of Kunming.In 2006, Huize Bada Guild Hall was rated as a national key cultural relics protection unit; in 2009, Huize was recommended by National Human Geography as one of the 108 stunningly beautiful landmarks in China; on May 22, 2013, the State Council replied to agree to Huize County to be listed as a national famous historical and cultural city. On September 25, 2018, it was awarded the honorary title of "2018 Comprehensive Demonstration County of E-commerce into Rural Areas" by the Ministry of Commerce. 2020 China's Top 100 Counties and Cities for Summer Leisure.
In 2022, Huize County completed a GDP of 3,728,857,000 yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.0%.In November 2020, Huize County was approved to withdraw from the poverty-stricken counties; in August 2021, it was selected as a key county in Yunnan Province for national rural revitalization support.
