Shache County, under the Kashgar Region of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has 5 streets, 14 towns, 14 townships, 1 ethnic township, and 2 management committees. Located in the southwest border of Xinjiang, bordered by Yarkant River in the southeast, and Zephyr County and Yecheng County across the river, neighboring with Meigaiti County in the northeast, bordering with Bachu County in the north, adjoining with Yepu Lake and Shule County in the northwest, bordering with Yingjisha and Aketao County in the west, and neighboring with Tashkurgan County in the southwest. In the northern foothills of the Kunlun Mountains, south of the Pamir Plateau, between the Taklamakan Desert and the Buguli Desert, Yarkant River alluvial fan plain in the middle and upper reaches.
