Kashgar (Uyghur: قەشقەرشەھىرى), county-level city under the jurisdiction of Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the southwestern part of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and the western edge of the Tarim Basin, at longitude 73°20′~79°57′ E and latitude 35°20′~40°18′ N. It enjoys a warm-temperate continental arid climate with four distinct seasons.
