Urban area, belonging to Yangquan City, Shanxi Province, is located in the south of the central part of the city, adjacent to the mining area in the west, bordering the development zone in the north, and Pingding in the east and south, with a total area of 55.88 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of the urban area was 225,443 people. The urban area was created in the early 20th century with the development of Yangquan's extractive industry, modern transportation and commerce, and originally belonged to Pingding County. It has a continental climate in the warm temperate monsoon climate zone, with four distinct seasons. The territory is rich in tourism resources, with major attractions such as the Hundred Regiments War Monument, Shizienshan Forest Park, Nanshan Park, and Taohe Park. In 2022, the urban area will realize a gross regional product of 22.722 billion yuan, of which the added value of the primary industry will complete 0.36 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry will complete 3.473 billion yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry will complete 19.213 billion yuan. The proportion of the three industries is 0.2%, 15.3% and 84.5%.
