Jixian County, belonging to Linfen City, Shanxi Province, is located on the east bank of the middle reaches of the Yellow River, in the southwest of Shanxi Province, between longitude 110°27'30"-111°07'20" east and latitude 35°53'10"-36°21'02" north. It is bordered by Puxian County, Yaodu District and Xiangning County in the east, Yichuan County in Shaanxi Province on the Yellow River in the west, Xiangning County in the south and Daning County in the north,, with a total area of 1,777.26 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Ji County was 85,541. As of May 2021, Ji County has 3 towns and 4 townships under its jurisdiction, with the county government located in Jichang Town.
At the time of Shang Zuyi, it belonged to Gengdi. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, it was called Zhai Cheng. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the state was abolished and became Jixian County. in October 2000, it belonged to Linfen City. Ji County is located in the west of Linfen City, belongs to the temperate continental monsoon climate, the rivers in the territory belong to the Yellow River Basin, and the main natural disasters are hail, drought, low temperature and frost.
