Yangcheng County, part of Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, is located in the southeastern tip of Shanxi Province, west of Jincheng City. It is located in the eastern branch of the Taiyue Mountains, northeast of the Zhongtiao Mountains, west of the Taihang Mountains, and on the west bank of the middle reaches of the Qin River. It is bounded by Zezhou County of Jincheng City in the east, neighboring Qingshui County in the north, bordering with Quanqu County of Yuncheng City in the southwest, and connecting with Jiyuan City of Henan Province in the south. Between 112°-112°37' east longitude and 35°12'-35°40' north latitude, the county is about 54 kilometers long from north to south and 53 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1,968 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Yangcheng County had a resident population of 345,973,000.
The ancient name of Yangcheng was Do Ho Suh Ze. During the Kangxi and Yongzheng years of the Qing Dynasty, Yangcheng, along with Hancheng of Shaanxi Province and Tongcheng of Anhui Province, was a culturally developed township with the highest literary style among the five counties under the jurisdiction of the Zexu Prefecture, earning it the reputation of being "listed among the three cities with a high wind and five genera". Within the territory, there is "the first cultural mansion in northern China", the national 5A scenic spot of Huangcheng Xiangfu, the well-preserved Ming Dynasty residential complex of Haihui Temple, Tianguan Wangfu, Guoyu Ancient City, etc., as well as the Chinese famous mountain analyzing the Chengshan Mountain, the Anaconda River and the Lixian Mountain Nature Reserve.
In 2022, Yangcheng County will realize a GDP of RMB 39,612.4 million, divided into industries: the primary industry will realize an added value of RMB 1,510.75 million, the secondary industry will realize an added value of RMB 29,223.57 million, and the tertiary industry will realize an added value of RMB 8,878.08 million. Per capita GDP amounted to 114,354,000 yuan, or 17,002 U.S. dollars at the average exchange rate in 2022.
