Baihe County, part of Ankang City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the eastern part of Ankang City, facing the Han River in the north, across the river from Uyghur County in Hubei Province, bordering Uyghur District and Zhushan County in Hubei Province in the east and south, respectively, and connecting with Xunyang City in the west, with an area of 1,450 square kilometers. As of October 2022, Baihe County has 11 towns under its jurisdiction. As of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Baihe County was 162,774 people.
Baihe County, named after the White Stone River in its territory, is surrounded by Chu to the east, north and south, and is the throat of the Central Plains into Shaanxi Province and Sichuan Province, and is known as "the head of Qin and the tail of Chu" in ancient times. During the Spring and Autumn Period, this territory belonged to the land of Swarm State, called Kiss. Warring States to Qin, this territory belonged to Chu, and then returned to Qin. In Qin, Kissing County was established. In the period of North and South Dynasties, Liang of South Dynasty abolished Kiss County and set up Yangchuan County in the south of this territory and Xiongchuan County in the north of this territory. In the twelfth year of Ming Chenghua (1476), Baihe County was reestablished.On September 13, 2022, Baihe County was named by the Shaanxi Provincial Government as the model county for the construction of county towns in the province for the year 2021.Baihe County has achieved the goal of becoming a model county for the construction of county towns in the province.
In 2022, Baihe County realized a gross regional product of 8.648 billion yuan and a per capita disposable income of 20,291 yuan for all residents.
