Eight steep town, belonging to Zibo City, Shandong Province, Bo Shan District, is located in the southeast of Bo Shan District, east and Yuanquan Town, bordering the town of South and Shima Town, West and Shantou Street adjacent to the north and Zichuan District, West River Town, connected to the administrative area of 39.76 square kilometers.
In 1949, it was built into the town of Babu; in 1956, it was built into the office of Babu; in 1958, it was built into the Black Mountain Commune; in 1962, it was renamed Babu Commune, and the townships of Fushan and Yuezhuang were set aside; in 1964, it was divided into the Babu Commune and Black Mountain Street; in 1969, the Black Mountain Street was merged into the Babu Commune; at the end of 1981, the Babu Commune was changed into the town of Babu; as of the end of 2018, the town of Babu had a household population of 32,667; as of June 2020, Bapu Town has 6 communities and 17 administrative villages under its jurisdiction; the town government is located in Hutouya Village.
In 2011, eight steep town local financial revenue of 59.74 million yuan, an increase of -5.4% over the previous year, from the main taxes, completed 6.238 million yuan of sales tax value-added tax of 19.112 million yuan, 2.143 million yuan of corporate income tax, personal income tax of 779,000 yuan, respectively, compared with the previous year, an increase of 0.99%, -19%, -7%, 53%; per capita financial income of 1641.6 yuan. An increase of 1.8% over the previous year; in 2018, there are 331 industrial enterprises in Basti Town, 54 enterprises above the scale, and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
