Yucheng, county-level city under the jurisdiction of Shandong Province, administered by Dezhou City, is located in northwestern Shandong Province, belonging to the Bohai Sea Economic Circle, all plains in the territory, the terrain is high in the south and low in the north, high in the west and low in the east, tilting gently from southwest to northeast, with a warm-temperate continental monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, distinct wet and dry seasons, and abundant sunshine, and covering a total area of 990 square kilometers. As of February 2023, the city has nine towns and two streets under its jurisdiction. As of the end of 2022, the city had a resident population of 481,300.
Yucheng City has a long history and rich culture, and is the place where Dayu became famous for his success in ruling water. In the first year of Tianbao (742) of the Tang Dynasty, Yucheng County was set up; in 1993, the county was abolished and established as a city. Yucheng is located in the superposition area of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cooperative development and Jinan's "Hebei Crossing" strategy, and is an important transportation hub in northwestern Shandong Province, with two high-speed railways, two expressways, and four national and provincial highways connecting the north and south, as well as the east and west. In 2022, Yucheng City will realize a gross regional product of 29.14 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 4.4%.
