The Dezhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, formerly known as the Yucheng High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, is located in the eastern part of Yucheng City. Construction began in March 1999. In September 2002, it was approved by the provincial government as a provincial-level high-tech industrial development zone. In February 2003, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved the establishment of a National Torch Program Biotechnology Industrial Base there. It was officially inaugurated in December 2004,In July 2014, it was renamed the Dezhou High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, becoming Shandong Province’s first provincial-level high-tech industrial development zone established in a county-level city. With a total planned area of 68.15 square kilometers, the zone features scientifically designed functional zones and well-developed infrastructure, having achieved “nine utilities and one leveling.” The zone is home to three listed companies, three companies listed on over-the-counter markets, and one company listed on the National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ).It has been honored with titles such as Core Area of the National High-Tech (Biotechnology) Industrial Base, One of China’s Top 100 Scientific Development Demonstration Zones, Shandong Province’s Best Investment Zone, Shandong Province’s First Batch of Science and Technology-Driven Trade and Export Innovation Bases, Shandong Province’s Top 10 Eco-Economic Development Zones, and Shandong Province’s Top 10 County-Level Economic Zones for Enterprise Aggregation.
