Jingyang District, belongs to Deyang City, Sichuan Province. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Deyang City. Located on the northeast edge of the Chengdu Plain, it is situated between latitude 31°05'-31°20' north and longitude 104°15'-104°33' east. It is adjacent to Zhongjiang County in the east, Mianzhu City in the west, Luojiang District in the north and Guanghan City in the south, with a total area of 648 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, Jingyang District had a resident population of 829,000 people. As of June 2023, Jingyang District has six streets and seven towns under its jurisdiction, with the district people's government stationed at 99 Huanghe East Road.
Jingyang District was formed by the evolution of Deyang County and Deyang City Central District. In the sixth year of Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 years ago), the two counties of Ba and Shu were divided into two counties to set up Mianzhu County of Guanghan County, with the place of administration in Huangshu Town of Jingyang District of present-day Deyang City, which is the beginning of Deyang County. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zitong County was divided and Deyang County was set up, with its seat in present-day Jiangyou Xiaoxiba, which was the beginning of Deyang's name. Tang Wude three years (620), divided Luo County (now Guanghan), Mianzhu land reset Deyang County. 1983 August, the establishment of Deyang City, Deyang County for the municipal county. 1984 September, the abolition of the Deyang County set up Deyang City District. 1996 August, the abolition of the Deyang City District, set up the Jingyang District and Luojiang County.
