Xintai Township is located in Kaijiang County, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province.In March 1954, during the first census, a portion of each of the two townships of Yongxing and Lingyan was set up to establish Xintai Township.In 1958, the name was changed to Xintai Commune, and in 1984 the name was restored to Xintai Township. The township is located in the north of the county, with an area of 42.24 square kilometers and a total population of 11,159 (2017).
