Xindu District, a municipal district of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, is located in the northeastern part of the city of Chengdu, with a total area of 496 square kilometers, bordering Qingbaijiang District in the northeast, Pixi District and Pengzhou City in the west, and Jinniu District and Chenghua District in the south. As of 2023, it has 7 streets and 2 towns under its jurisdiction. The People's Government of Xindu District is stationed at No. 92, Guihu Middle Road. As of the end of 2022, Xindu District had a resident population of 1,577,000, with a resident urbanization rate of 78.5%.
Xindu District is a provincial-level historical and cultural city in Sichuan, which is known as "Pearl of Heavenly Capital, Fragrant City and Treasure Land" with the fragrance of books in the Scholar's Mansion, the fragrance of flowers in the city of Gui Rui, and the fragrance of Buddha in the Baoguang Ancient Temple. Xindu is the capital of the ancient state of Shu, which was established at the end of Spring and Autumn Period. In the Western Han Dynasty, Xindu County was established, and on November 15, 2001, Xindu County was abolished and established as a district.
In 2022, Xindu District will realize GDP of 103.26 billion yuan, per capita disposable income of 49,166 yuan, and local general public budget revenue of 6.43 billion yuan.
