Litong District, belongs to Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Between longitude 104°10'~107°39', latitude 35°14'~39°23', located in the middle of the Ningxia Plain, is the essence of the Yellow Irrigation District of Ningxia, because of the Yellow River through the border with the "South of the River on the Seas" reputation. It is 60 kilometers away from the capital Yinchuan and 40 kilometers away from the Hedong Airport, with the Beijing-Tibet Expressway, National Highway 109, National Highway 211 and Provincial Highway 101 passing through it, and it is one of the major Hui settlements in China. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Litong District was 460,790 people. As of April 2021, Litong District district total area of 1,384 square kilometers, under the jurisdiction of 8 towns, 4 townships, 106 administrative villages, the district government is located in Shengli Township.
Litong district market trade has a long history, is the traditional distribution of materials in Northwest China, known as the "water and drought dock", "port of commerce", "the world's big set". There are Jinji Fort built in the Ming Dynasty and Dongfu in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty. Litong District is a major producer of beef and mutton and ethnic specialty foods and a textile industry development center, and was named "National Model Ethnic Unity District" by the National People's Committee in 2011, and was awarded the title of "National Model Collective for Progress in Ethnic Unity" by the State Council in 2014.
In 2021, Litong District will realize a GDP of 23.63 billion yuan, with a general public budget revenue of 380 million yuan, and per capita disposable incomes of urban and rural residents reaching 36,626 yuan and 19,160 yuan respectively.
