Dayu, known as Nan'an in ancient times, is subordinate to Ganzhou City of Jiangxi Province, located at the intersection of Gan, Guangdong and Hunan provinces, and is the "south gate" of Jiangxi. It covers an area of 1,368 square kilometers, with 8 towns and 3 townships under its jurisdiction. According to the seventh census, as of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Dayu County is 264,995 people.
Dayu County is the place of origin of Zhou-Cheng Science in Song Dynasty. Sights and monuments include the Meiguan and ancient stage road opened by the Tang and Song dynasties, Lingyan Temple in Yashan of the Southern Tang Dynasty, Jiayousi Pagoda of the Song Dynasty, and Peony Pavilion of the Song Dynasty, among which the Jiayousi Pagoda, Meiguan, and the ancient stage road have been listed as the sixth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.
