Linchuan District, under the Jiangxi Province, Fuzhou City, is located in the northwestern part of Fuzhou City, east and Jinxi County, Dongxiang District adjacent to the west of Chongren County, Fengcheng City, south of Nancheng County, Yihuang County, north of Nanchang City, Jinxian County border. The district has a total area of 2,121 square kilometers, with 23 townships, 1 reclamation farm, 5 streets, 1 industrial park and 1 Changfu Cooperation Demonstration Zone. As of the end of 2020, the resident population of Linchuan District was 1,102,400 people.
Linchuan was founded in the 8th year of Yongyuan of the Eastern Han Dynasty (96), and is the seat of Fuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and the political, economic and cultural center of the city. Linchuan District is 98 kilometers away from Nanchang City, in the Nanchang 1-hour economic circle. Changfu Railway, Fuyin Expressway, Fuji Expressway, Fujin Expressway, Dongchang Expressway, National Highway 316, National Highway 320 and Changxia Highway pass through the district.
Linchuan is a nationally renowned "hometown of talent, culture", Linchuan culture is one of the two pillars of culture in Jiangxi, history has emerged Wang Anshi, Tang Xianzu, Yanshu, Yan Qidao and a number of famous Confucian masters.
