Jinxi County, belonging to Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the east-central part of Jiangxi Province and the north of Fuzhou City, bordering Zixi County and Guixi City in the east, Nancheng County in the south, Linchuan District in the west, and Dongxiang District and Yujiang District of Yingtan City in the north. The county covers an area of 1,358 square kilometers, with 13 townships, overseas Chinese management districts and urban community management committees, 150 administrative villages and 11 communities.At the end of 2022, the resident population of Jinxi County was 249,300 people.
Jinxi County, with its geographic shape like a lingzhi, was historically known as "Jinxi" because of its gold and silver production, and the color of the water in the mountain streams was like gold. In addition to the well-preserved ancient city of Jinxi County, the Gan School of architecture in Jinxi County is known as "a museum of ancient villages without walls". 206 National Highway and 316 National Highway intersect in Jinxi County, and the Fuji Expressway and the Jiguang Expressway run through the whole county.
