Xinbei District, belongs to Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province; it is located in the north of Changzhou City, bordering the Yangtze River in the north, across the river from Taizhou City, neighboring Jiangyin City, Wuxi City, in the east, bordering Yangzhong City, Zhenjiang City, Danyang City, in the west, and connecting with Tianning and Zhonglou Districts, in the south, with a total area of 5,089,191 square kilometers.As of the end of 2023, Xinbei District has a permanent population of 902,900 people, with a household population of 638,900 people. Ethnic minorities mainly include Hui, Uyghur, Tujia, Zhuang, Manchu, Miao, Korean, Dong, etc. As of June 2023, Xinbei District has five streets and five towns under its jurisdiction, with the district government stationed at No. 8 Chongxin Road.
In 1950, the suburb of Changzhou City was established.In 2002, the suburb was abolished and Xinbei District was established. With Changzhou National High-tech Industrial Development Zone to implement the "two brands, a set of team" management system. It is a pilot area of national intellectual property rights project, a pilot county of agricultural green development pilot support system construction, a county of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area, and the third batch of whole area tourism demonstration area in Jiangsu Province.
In 2022, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Xinbei District was 1990.6 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0% over the previous year. The added value of the primary industry is 2.05 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry is 102.94 billion yuan; the added value of the tertiary industry is 94.07 billion yuan, and the structure of the three industries is 1.0:51.7:47.3.
