Wating Town, belonging to Neixiang County, Nanyang City, Henan Province, is located in the southwestern part of Neixiang County, neighboring Shigang Town in the east, bordering Houpo Town, Xianghua Town, and Ma Stirrup Town of Xichuan County in the west and south, and neighboring Traffic Cui Township in the north, with the people's government of the town 37 kilometers away from Neixiang County City, with a total area of 89.32 square kilometers.
In May of the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), the territory of Wating Town belongs to Shigang District; in 1997, the township was withdrawn to build Wating Town; as of the end of 2018, Wating Town has a household population of 34,899; as of June 2020, Wating Town has 16 administrative villages; the town people's government is stationed at No. 133, Ping'an Road.
In 2011, Wating Township's fiscal revenue was 6,759,000 yuan, an increase of 3.5% over the previous year. From the viewpoint of each major tax type, 3,703,000 yuan of sales tax, 1,000,000 yuan of value-added tax, 300,000 yuan of corporate income tax and 200,000 yuan of personal income tax were accomplished. Per capita financial income of 179 yuan, an increase of 6% over the previous year, per capita net income of farmers 1,116 yuan; in 2018, Wating Township has six industrial enterprises, one enterprise above the scale, and five general stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
