Huaibin County, a county under the jurisdiction of Xinyang City, Henan Province, is located in the northeastern part of the city of Xinyang, between longitude 115°11′-115°35′ E and latitude 32°15′-32°38′ N. It has a total area of 1,209 square kilometers, and is situated in the transition zone between the northern subtropical and warm temperate climates. As of June 2020, Huaibin County has 4 streets, 5 towns and 10 townships under its jurisdiction, with the county government stationed in Binhu Street. According to the seventh census data, as of zero hour on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Huaibin County was 549,600 people.
Huaibin is named after the Huaihe River.Approved by the State Council in August 1952, Huaibin County was formally established.On October 20, 1962, the former Huaibin administrative area in Xixian County and the administrative areas of the two districts of the former Huaibin County, Zhisi and Zhangzhuang, in Gushi County, were merged to form the administrative area of Huaibin County.In March 2019, Huaibin County was included in the list of counties of the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization piece of the district. Huaibin County Industrial Cluster is one of the first 175 industrial clusters identified in Henan Province. Shipbuilding is a traditional advantageous industry in Huaibin County, and is also included in the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" of Henan Province to focus on the support of the equipment manufacturing industry. 2020, February 26, the People's Government of Henan Province approved the withdrawal of Huaibin County from the poverty-stricken counties, and formally lifted off the hat. There are famous scenic spots in Huaibin County, such as the Period Si Ancient City, East and West Lake Scenic Area, and Huaibin Huainan Wetland Nature Reserve.
