Renze District, belonging to Xingtai City, Hebei Province, is a precinct of Xingtai City, located in the east of Xingtai City, in the hinterland of North China Plain, with a total area of 434.8 square kilometers. Renze District belongs to the temperate monsoon climate, characterized by significant continental monsoon and four distinct seasons. The district government is located at No. 389, Renmin Street, Renzhen Town. As of 2023, Renze District has 5 towns, 3 townships and 1 district (Hebei Renze Economic Development Zone) under its jurisdiction, with a total of 195 administrative villages. 2022, Renze District has a total household population of 394,500 and a resident population of 341,600.
Renze District, formerly known as Ren County, was established in the Western Han Dynasty, with a history of more than 2,000 years. It was one of the nine counties in Xingzhou after the Sui and Tang dynasties, and is one of the oldest counties in Hebei Province in history.In June 2020, the State Council approved and agreed to abolish Renxian County and set up Renze District in Xingtai City. The word "Ren" was first used in the oracle bone inscriptions, and in ancient times, the word "Ren" and "壬" (壬), which means "water" in the Five Elements, was the same as "水", which means "water" in the Five Elements.
