Qinghe County, belonging to Xingtai City, Hebei Province, known as Qingyang, is located in the southeastern part of Hebei Province, the eastern part of Xingtai City, northeast of Hengshui City, Hengshui City, Gucheng County, east of the Wei-Canal and Shandong Province, Dezhou City, Shandong Province, Xazin County, respectively, from the south to the west and the Linci County, Weixian as a neighbor, and the north of Qingliangjiang River and the city of Nangong adjoining. Qinghe County has a warm temperate semi-humid continental monsoon climate. The seasons are distinct throughout the year. The total area is 502 square kilometers. According to the seventh census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, the resident population of Qinghe County was 421,582 people.
In the early years of Sui Daye (605), Qinghe County was established. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Qinghe County belonged to Hebei Province, and in 1952, it belonged to Xingtai Prefecture, and in November 1958, it was incorporated into Nangong County, and in May 1961, it was restored to Xingtai Prefecture. In July of the same year, Qinghe County was separated from Nangong County and restored to Qinghe County, which belonged to Xingtai Prefecture of Hebei Province.In 1993, Xingtai was abolished and established as a city, and Qinghe County belonged to Xingtai City. As of October 2021, Qinghe County has six towns under its jurisdiction, and the county people's government is located in Gexianzhuang Town.
Qinghe County's specialty economy is cashmere products, known as the "Cashmere Capital of China", is the world's largest cashmere and cashmere products distribution center, the total annual sales volume accounted for 40% of the world and 60% of the country, with a total output value of more than 20 billion yuan. Qinghe is also the deputy center of Xingtai City in the east, and is listed as one of the first batch of expanding counties and priority medium-sized cities in the province by Hebei Province. It is a provincial-level economic and technological development zone in Hebei Province, and was awarded the honorary title of "National Civilized County City" by the Central Civilization Committee in 2011. In Qinghe County, there is a secondary station of Beijing-Kowloon Railway; Qingyin Expressway, National Highway 308, Su Lin Line and Xing Qing Line cross the county. Qinghe County is the birthplace of the Zhang family name and the hometown of Wusong, the hero of the Water Margin, who was awarded the title of "Hometown of China's Wusong Culture" by the state. It is also the birthplace of the story of the TV series "Fertile Ground" and the birthplace of the story of the book "The Golden Lotus".
