Lubei District, belonging to Tangshan City, Hebei Province, is the center of Tangshan City, Tangshan City, Tangshan Municipal People's Government seat, located in the eastern part of Hebei Province, the northern half of the central area, adjacent to Beijing and Tianjin. It has a total area of 176 square kilometers. As of June 2023, Lubei District has 11 streets and 2 towns under its jurisdiction, with the district government stationed at No. 55 Xinhua East Road, Qiaotun Street. As of 2023, Lubei District had a resident population of 789,300.
The town of Qiaotun was founded in the fourth year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1878), and in 1963, the Xishan District and the Riverside District were merged to form the Lubei District. Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway, Jin-Qin High-speed Railway, Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway and Zhang-Tangshan Railway pass through the district. There are attractions such as Jidong People's Anti-Japanese Riot Monument and Dacheng Mountain Ruins in Dacheng Mountain. Lubei District is an advanced district for education work in Hebei Province, a basic balanced district for the development of national compulsory education, a national experimental district for community education, and a civilized urban area in Hebei Province.
In 2023, the gross regional product of Lubei District will complete 64.55 billion yuan, up 7.2% year-on-year; general public budget revenue will complete 5.54 billion yuan, up 7.6% year-on-year; fixed asset investment will increase by 68.9% year-on-year; and total retail sales of consumer goods will complete 29.96 billion yuan, up 9.5% year-on-year.
