Liwu Town, Hebei Province, Baoding City, Li County town, the Li County People's Government, is the county's political, economic, cultural and transportation center. Located in the southwestern part of Li County, Liwu Town is bordered by Liushi Town in the east, Nanzhuang Town in the south, Bono County in the west, Xiaochen Town in the northwest, and Xinxing Town in the northeast, with a maximum distance of 15.62 km from east to west and 13.2 km from north to south, and a total area of 99.48 square kilometers.At the end of 2018, Liwu Town had a total household population of 104,968 people.
Liwu Town was named after the ancient Liwu land.In 1953, it was founded as Chengguan Town.In 1958, Gaoyang and Li County were merged into one county, and it was called Liwu Town in Gaoyang County.In December 1961, Li County was restored to its structure, and Chengguan People's Commune was built.In 1987, it was reclaimed the name of Liwu Town. As of June 2020, Liwu Town has 7 communities and 41 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the town people's government is located in Yongsheng North Street.
Liwu Town is "the first batch of small town comprehensive reform pilot town", "provincial advanced unit", "provincial garden unit". The main cultural relics of Liwu Town are Dasongtai, and it is the planting place of Lixian yam, a national geographical indication product of China.
In 2013, Liwu Township's total agricultural output value was 243 million yuan, and the net income per capita of farmers was 8,425 yuan, an increase of 16% over the previous year; the total industrial output value was 4.5 billion yuan.In 2018, Liwu Township had 225 industrial enterprises, of which 14 were above scale, and there were 36 general stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
