Laibin (Zhuang: Laizbinh), also known as the Yao Capital of the World, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, located at latitude 23°16′10′′~24°28′14′′ north and longitude 108°24′39′′~110°27′18′′ east. It is located in the northeast of the center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, so it is called "Guizhong". The total area of the administrative region is 13,400 square kilometers. Laibin City is located in the subtropics, affected by the monsoon circulation, warm and humid ocean air masses prevail in summer, and cold and dry continental air masses prevail in winter, so the summer is long and the winter is short, and the rain and heat are in the same season. As of the end of 2022, the resident population of Laibin City was 2,077,800 people. As of 2022, Laibin has 1 municipal district, 4 counties, and 1 county-level city under its jurisdiction, with the municipal government stationed at No. 1 Renmin Road, Chengbei Street, Xingbin District.
In the second year of Tang Tianbao (743), Huaiyi County was changed to Laibin County, under Yanzhou, and in December 1949, Liuzhou Prefecture was established, and in 1970, Liuzhou Prefecture was renamed Liuzhou District, and on September 29, 2002, Liuzhou District was abolished and Laibin City was established. Laibin is an important node city of the Pearl River-West River Economic Belt, a "4+2" city in the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and an important part of the Southwest China Sea Channel.
Laibin is also known as the "City of Chinese Ornamental Stones". It has been named as one of the first cities to create the "National Public Cultural Service System Demonstration Area", "National National Fitness Demonstration City", "National Civilized City Nomination City", "National Model Double-Protection City", "National Model City", "National Model City", "National Model City", "National Model City" and "National Model City". "In 2014, Laibin was listed as one of the first batch of national comprehensive pilot areas for new urbanization. In November 2017, Laibin was honored as an advanced city (district) in the national ideological and moral construction work for minors.
In 2022, Laibin will realize a gross regional product of 90.123 billion yuan, an increase of 3.6% over the previous year.
