Jinta County, belonging to Jiuquan City in Gansu Province, is located in the northern edge of the middle section of the Hexi Corridor, between 97°58′-100°20′ east longitude and 39°47′-40°59′ north latitude, with a total area of 18,800 square kilometers, about 250 kilometers east-west and 400 kilometers north-south. Jinta County belongs to the typical temperate arid continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers, large temperature differences, abundant sunshine and high evaporation.
It has a history of more than 2,100 years since Huishui County was set up in the second year of Yuanhari of Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty (121 years ago), formerly known as Prince Zhuang, which was named after the eldest son of the king of Beiliang, Frustrated Qiu Mugandan, who had established a pastoral village in this area. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), "Jinta Temple" in the southeast of the county was named Jinta County. In the territory, there are natural attractions such as Stone City, Stone Sea, Black River, High Gorge and Flat Lake, and Lone Smoke in the Desert. Jinta County has won the honors of National Advanced County for Scientific and Technological Progress, National Commodity Grain Base County, National Top 100 Cotton Producing County, National Model County for Double Embrace, National Advanced Unit for Quality Family Planning Service, National Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism Demonstration Site and so on.
According to the seventh population census data, as of 00:00 on November 1, 2020, Jinta County had a resident population of 121,766 people.
In 2022, Jinta County's GDP was 9.26 billion yuan, up 11.9% year-on-year, with the primary industry at 3.49 billion yuan, up 6.6% year-on-year, the secondary industry at 3.06 billion yuan, up 36.3% year-on-year, and the tertiary industry at 2.70 billion yuan, up 2.9% year-on-year.
