Zhongshan City, known as Xiangshan in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, one of the central cities of the Pearl River Delta, an important node city in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, one of the regional centers of Guangdong, one of the cities in the metropolitan area on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary, and a national type-II large city.
