Cuiheng New Area [13], under the jurisdiction of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the coastal eastern region of Zhongshan City. It encompasses Nanlang Subdistrict, Hengmen Island, and the surrounding waters, with a total planned area of 226 square kilometers. The initial development zone (Ma'an Island) has a planned land area of 35 square kilometers. [5] [11]
In 2012, Nanlang Town and Hengmen Town jointly established the Cuiheng New Area. [7] On March 25, 2013, the Cuiheng New Area was officially inaugurated. In 2016, the Zhongshan Cuiheng New Area Management Committee was established. [5]
In 2022, Cuiheng New District achieved a regional gross domestic product (GDP) of 22.071 billion yuan, representing a year-on-year increase of 16.3%; industrial added value from enterprises above designated size reached 10.543 billion yuan, up 13.2% year-on-year; and fixed-asset investment grew by 3.8% year-on-year.
